Gurmeash Kaur

Gurmeash is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience in the NHS. She has a special interest in trauma and the impact of our race, culture, gender on our ability to navigate life events.

During my time in the NHS I have noticed a real lack of diversity in those that access mental health services, which is why  I am excited to be part of the Brown Therapist Network team and look forward to working with the South Asian population.”

She has worked with a range of presenting difficulties including, abusive trauma histories, personality disorders, anxiety, depression, body dysmorphia, Autism, OCD, relational difficulties and gender identity difficulties.

Gurmeash uses many different psychological frameworks including; relational models, compassionate focussed therapy and Acceptance and commitment therapy and CBT.

Shilpa Sreenath

Dr. Shilpa Sreenath is a HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist with 12 years of experience working in the field of mental health & well being. She is the founder and Clinical Lead of Flow Psychology, a private, pay-by-use, consultation space which delivers psychotherapy and wellbeing mentoring to clients across the world in a modern, non-clinical environment.

Over the last 5 years, Shilpa has advocated for and delivered ethical, evidence-based psychological care to adults and adolescents by collaborating with educational institutions, corporate employment assistance services, psychiatric institutions and Fitness focused companies.

Shilpa’s identity and professional stance as a Counselling Psychologist is underpinned by three decades of cross-cultural life experiences. This has shaped her understanding of and learning from diverse  historical, socio-economic and religious contexts to mental health and holistic well-being. 

She is available for sessions between 8am-4pm.

Ameepurva Thaker

Amee is a qualified, BABCP registered, psychotherapeutic couple and individual Transactional Analysis Counsellor, training to become a psychotherapist.

I love learning about life and culture understanding traditions and how we view life. I am interested in how we evolve and how to maintain a balance in life.

She is a first generation British Asian, born, bred and based in London. She blends counselling, psychotherapy techniques and plenty of life eperience into her therapeutic practice. Additionally, she enjoys using modern mindfulness techniques to allow for natural unravelling growth.

She is available for sessions between 5pm-8pm & weekend mornings between 9am-12pm.

Huma Khan

Huma is an experienced multilingual psychotherapeutic counsellor, who practices an Integrative Approach. She offers open-ended counselling as well as short-term and focused therapy, thus providing a flexible and caring approach.

My aim is to help empower my clients and for them to gain confidence in themselves in order to build a brighter future and gain emotional resilience.” 

She has gained specialised experience with PTSD and Complex Trauma. Having worked extensively with refugees, and survivors of domestic & honour-based violence within the legal system, & social services as well, she understands how challenging court proceedings, immigration or family disputes can be.

Additionally, she has trained as a life and wellness coach. She can help clients overcome difficulties with managing chronic health conditions, weight management and smoking cessation.

She is available for sessions Monday afternoons from 2pm-8pm, & Tuesday-Thursday 11am-7pm.

Dr Najma Sultana

Najma is a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist. She specialises in working with adolescents and young adults who are experiencing low mood, anxiety and difficulties in their relationships.

I believe that clients need to feel seen, heard and understood in therapy. I am passionate about creating a safe space in which people can explore the things that are hurting or troubling them the most.

Najma also works with individuals who have experienced difficult and traumatic events in their lives. She has a particular interest in helping individuals from the South-Asian community navigate and make sense of what it means to be both Asian and British in today’s society.

She draws from a range of therapeutic approaches: Systemic Family Therapy, EMDR, DBT & CBT. She developed experience in this during her Docterate in 2016 at University of Birmingham and continues to develop her expertise as a clinical psychologist. This allows her to draw upon a range of therapeutic approaches to meet the needs of her clients.

Najma is available for sessions on Thursdays between 9am to 2pm.

Brendar Dassaur

Brendar Dassaur is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Systemic Practitioner who qualified in 2010 and has worked in NHS services and Private Practice.

She is a Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) teacher and has specialised in working with women in the perinatal period.

She has a keen interest in working with people from a South Asian heritage and has worked with a range of presenting difficulties from common mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety disorders to psychosis, bipolar affective disorder and personality disorders. She draws on a range of therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Family Systems and Person-centred approaches.  

She is available for sessions on Monday evenings, Wed evenings and Saturday mornings.

Gauri Verma

Gauri founded Brain-Based Connection® in 2021 following the pandemic, where experience as a mother balancing work and family commitments led her to pioneer her own method to remain connected to herself and her children.

Recognising the unique position she had as a mother, a psychiatristwith scientific expertise and an academic researcher with insights into evidence and literature on parenting, Gauri developed her own method, which she has now formulated as a coaching programme to support other parents with emotional connection with their children.

Gauri is passionate about sustainable mental health, and the importance of the parenting period on transgenerational wellness. Gauri is now on a mission to support parents with holistic science for their own wellbeing, as well as that of their children. Gauri is passionate about supporting the next generation with essential pro-social values such as addressing unconscious racial bias, and celebrating diversity.

The parent child connection is key to promoting an inclusive psychology in the next generation. Currently, Gauri is appointed as an expert in parents and family wellness at Cognacity Ltd, and advising Shawmind, a UK based charity, on supporting parents with emotional connection. Gauri is also a parent expert for SPARKLE, a clinical trial at Kings College London developing interventions for family wellness.

She is available for sessions daily between 10:30am-13:30pm.
